Lions-Vikings week 15 matchup flexed to 4:25 pm start by the NFL

The Detroit Lions are getting a little later start Dec. 14 against the Minnesota Vikings.

The NFL has flexed the Lions’ Week 15 matchup to a 4:25 pm start. It was originally scheduled to kickoff at 1 p.m. The Week 15 Cincinnati at Cleveland game will be broadcast on FOX at 1 p.m. The Lions vs. Vikings game will follow on FOX. The Lions had one previous 4:25 start this year in Arizona. They fell, 14-6.

Detroit beat the Vikings 17-3 in Minnesota in Week 6.

The NFL will continue to use flexible scheduling up to Week 17. For each flexible scheduling week with the exception of Week 17, the NFL announces the start times of games on Sundays no later than 12 days prior to that weekend.

To ensure a Sunday night game and doubleheader games with playoff implications in Week 17, flexible scheduling decisions for that Sunday can be made on six days notice.

The Lions play the Green Bay Packers Week 17 at Lambeau Field. That game could have NFC North division title and playoff implications, and could possibly be a candidate to be flexed to an evening start.
