Spartans land 5-star recruit Caleb Swanigan for Class of 2015

Coming off a sensational season that led to yet another Final Four appearance, it looks like Michigan State basketball will be ready to re-load heading into next season.

Already rolling with three high school recruits committed to their program for the fall (including McDonald’s All-American 2015 and Michigan Mr. Basketball Deyonta Davis), word emerged Friday that MSU had landed their second 5-star recruit and McDonald’s All-American this year.

Six-foot-eight, 265-pound Caleb Swanigan (Fort Wayne, Ind.) announced on Twitter Friday that he will be joining the Spartans next season. He choose Tom Izzo and Michigan State over the likes of Duke, Kentucky, and Big 10 rival Purdue.

Swanigan and Davis join 4-star recruit Matt McQuaid, 3-star Kyle Ahrens, and red-shirt West Virginia transfer Eron Harris as the new Spartans next season.

The Spartans may not be done, as Missouri forward Johnathan Williams III is also reportedly looking to transfer and claims MSU is at the top of his list. Williams led the Tigers in scoring this past season.
