Red Wings players sound off following brutal loss in Boston

Thursday night was bad for the Detroit Red Wings. The fans know it, the coaches know it, but most importantly, the players know it. A night after playing their most complete game of the season against Philadelphia, the Wings played possibly their most incomplete game against Boston on the road, leading to an ugly 5-2 loss at TD Garden. The good news? The Wings control their own destiny. A win in regulation or overtime on Saturday against the Rangers will make Detroit playoff bound for a 25th straight season. The bad news? It will probably be harder than we originally thought. New York still has a ton to play for. The Rangers can either be the 3rd seed in the Metropolitan Division, or the 1st Wild Card seed, so expect them to play their big guns including star goalie Henrik Lundqvist.

Following the Wings loss in Boston, some of the players spoke to the media, including captain Henrik Zetterberg and head coach Jeff Blashill.

It’s pretty much do-or-die in Game #82 on Saturday afternoon at MSG.
