Detroit Lions fans woke up to yet another earth-shattering update from ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday, and… well… it wasn’t exactly groundbreaking.
In a tweet that could’ve been written by Captain Obvious himself, Schefter reported that Amon-Ra St. Brown did not practice this week because of his ankle sprain, and that next week was always the more “realistic expectation” for his return.
Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown did not practice this week due to his ankle sprain and a return next week was considered the more “realistic expectation”, per source. But the team also knows St. Brown is one of the NFL’s toughest players, and if anyone can come back sooner, it’s him. pic.twitter.com/XXXDt5nS3M

No kidding, Adam!!! We already knew that!!!
Like every Lions fan on planet earth, we weren’t sitting around asking, “Huh, I wonder if ankle sprains magically heal in 48 hours?”
The actual question everyone wants answered is simple:
Is Amon-Ra St. Brown going to play tonight against the Cowboys??
That’s it. That’s the tweet. That’s the update we all want.
Instead, Schefter gave us a friendly reminder that St. Brown is:
- One of the toughest players in the NFL
- The kind of guy who pushes to return early
- Beloved by coaches for his competitiveness
…Yes, Adam. Thank you. We know. Detroit knows. The league knows. His dog probably knows.
What we don’t know — and what Schefter conveniently sidestepped — is whether No. 14 will actually suit up under the Thursday Night Football lights.
Until we get that answer, Lions fans will be refreshing notifications like it’s Cyber Monday.
