The Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL are squaring off against the OHL champions, the London Knights, for the Memorial Cup.
The Wheat Kings were trailing the Knights 5-1 in the 3rd period, when they got a goal from Tyler Coulter to cut the deficit slightly. Then John Quenneville scored what may end up being the goal of the series.
Taking a cross-ice pass from his own zone, he gained speed going into the Knights’ goal. He made a quick fake pumping the leg, then shot the puck back between his legs and scored five-hole to cut the Knights’ lead to two. They ultimately ended up staying at the 5-3 final score, but it was certainly a night Quenneville won’t forget.
