We’re a little more than 24 hours away from puck drop, for the Detroit Red Wings at least. The 2016-17 NHL season officially gets underway Wednesday night, but Detroit will first take the ice Thursday night in Tampa against the Lightning.
A lot of speculation has been made on who will make the roster for Opening Night, with the wave of roster moves being made throughout the preseason and having to deal with injuries to some key cogs. But early on Wednesday, the official roster was released, along with the likely pairings on offense and defense.
